Announcement of filling in administrative staff from the staff of Big Data for Smart Society - GATE Institute
According to the decision of the Academic Council of Sofia University “St. Kl. Ohridski "from 29.05.2019 has an approved establishment plan, for which a competition is announced for:
System Administrator at Big Data for Smart Society - GATE Institute
Responsibilities
- Investigates the application of information technology in business;
-
Develops and implements security plans and policies for the administration of data, administration of computer networks and related computer environment;
-
Analyzes, develops, interprets and evaluates complex system projects system architecture specifications, data models and diagrams developing, configuring and integrating computer systems;
-
Operates and maintains information and communication systems communication systems in the company;
-
Identifies potential risks or weaknesses of its information communication equipment and offering alternative solutions;
-
Identifies areas for improvement and studies theoretical aspects and operational methods for using computers;
-
Deals with expanding and finding solutions for different environments for tests / simulations;
-
Manages different environments, taking care of their archiving, updating and migration;
-
Provides methodological assistance to network users for solving problems encountered when using the application software;
-
Introduces protection against network misuse as well protection from external interference;
-
Fixes software and hardware problems encountered while operating the application programs and computer systems;
-
Participates in the implementation of new solutions in the company;
-
Prepares reports as necessary.
Required education and experience
- Higher education in any of the following fields and areas: technical and computer science, mathematics, computer science, communication and computer technique;
- Minimum 3+ years experience in a similar or similar position.
Required expertise
In-depth knowledge and practical experience with the following technologies and products:
- Active directory
-
Exchange Server, Message hygiene, High availability of mail service

Various types of file servers
-
Computer networks - addressing, routing
-
Knowledge of basic protocols - HTTP, DNS, SMTP, IMAPv4, ICMP
-
Experience with monitoring systems - Nagios based / Zabbix / OpenNMS
-
Experience with backup / restore systems
-
Practical experience in administering virtualization systems

Professional certificates, such as MCSA and MCSE, are an advantage
-
Desire for long-term realization in a research institute

Very good command of English

Documents must be submitted from 01/13/2020 to 01/20/2020 every working day from 10.00 to 12.00 and from 14.00 to 15.00 at the address: 15 Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd., Department Secretariat and Registry, floor 1, rooms 114 and 115
Stages of the competition:
- Review of the submitted documents of the candidates and admission to participation in the procedure of those who meet the requirements set out in the announcement.
- On 01/21/2020 at 2:00 pm interview with the admitted candidates, which will be held at 15 Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd., floor 1, office 12.
- The selected person should be informed in writing of the results of the competition.
- The selected person will be recruited under an employment contract.
